AIMS Education Foundation :: E-Activities List :: Climbing to Altitude

Climbing to Altitude
Climbing to Altitude

Preview (may be partial)

NOTE: The GRAVITY RULES VIDEO is required for this activity. (Order #4075V ) Students will learn how to read an Instantaneous Vertical Speed Indicator (IVSI), an Altimeter, and an Airspeed Indicator. An airplane with a load of skydivers takes off, climbs to altitude, discharges the load of jumpers, and then descends. At one-minute intervals, students will observe and record altimeter, IVSI, and airspeed readings. These readings form an altitude-time data table. From the table, students construct an altitude-time graph of the climb to altitude, jump run, and descent of the airplane.

Note: This product is a download only product and requires Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.x or later.
